Disney's biggest ship to sail from Asia

Disney Cruise Line will base its latest and biggest ship in Singapore, in a move to capture a share of the Southeast Asia cruise market, with voyages starting in early 2025.

The ship itself is still being built in Germany, and redesigned to Disney themes and standards. It was originally intended for Dream Cruises, an Asian operator that went under when its parent company collapsed. Originally to be named Global Dream, it will get a Disney name before it sails.

Among the changes Disney has been making since the half-completed ship was acquired last November, is reducing the passenger count from 9,000 to 6,000 by making cabins larger and setting fewer up as 4-person spaces. Disney is also likely to redo the original plan for a huge casino, as none of Disney's five other ships has a casino.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
