Denmark: Cold War bunker is hot ticket

A Cold War-era underground shelter, unused since 2003, has opened as a museum in Denmark and has proven so popular that tickets are already sold out until summer.

Built between 1963 and 1968, the sprawling nuclear bunker was a top secret for many years, with its existence only revealed in 2012. Now, it's been turned over to the North Jutland Historical Museum, which opened it to the public last Monday.

Because of space considerations only 10 visitors at a time can enter the shelter, passing through a hillside doorway and then walking two kilometres to the shelter in the heart of the mountain.
