Denali Park Hotel, Healy, Alaska

Accommodations around Denali National Park are limited in number and fill up quickly. So if you're planning on going, make your reservations early.

During our stay at the park, we ended up with a room in the Denali Park Hotel in nearby Healy. The hotel was comfortable, but not fancy. I did, however, enjoy its lobby which is situated in this old railroad car dating from 1943.

There were many animals that visited the grounds of the hotel. During the day, rabbits predominated. But in the dark, we'd see a number of moon-lite moose cows and calves grazing on the grass.
