German leisure airline Condor is taking on what has to be the most unusual new livery of any airline, painting its new planes in stripes in colors that are meant to remind viewers of parasols, beach chairs and beach towels.
The airline, which escaped the bankruptcy of its previous owners, Thomas Cook, is replacing its fleet of 767 with A330neos, and the first of the new planes was delivered Monday, in green stripes. Ultimately, the stripes will come in five colors: yellow (“sunshine”), red (“passion”), blue (“sea”), green (“island”) and beige (“beach”).
The airline's not stopping at striped planes, either: new crew uniforms will also bear stripes, though no one has said yet whether they will be vertical or horizontal, and the theme will carry over into airport signatge, onboard service materials and even boarding passes.
And no, those aren't the new uniforms... but now you know where Waldo is.
