Part of the fun of driving through Florida is seeing Florida's old roadside attractions.
Christmas, Florida is a community of about 1000 people on State Road 50, between Orlando and Cape Canaveral. The community has Fort Christmas Historical Park, a replica of Fort Christmas. The Fort originally began construction on Dec 25th, 1837 with the arrival of 2000 US Army soldiers and Alabama volunteers during the Second Seminole War. Besides the Fort, Christmas has a post office and a private cemetery. And it has, Jungle Adventures, a animal park and gift shop which the world's largest gator, Swampy. Christmas may not be as big of a stop as it used to be but that adds to it's charm.
