And we mean that literally. The Chinese National Tourist Administration has launched an app to help visitors find the nearest public facilities quickly.
Zhao Wei, a Xiamen tour guide who says it's been embarrassing when he can't find toilets for his tour groups, told reporters "It only takes seconds to locate nearby toilets after opening the app."
The app, which covers all of China's highest-level tourist attractions and about 70% so far of the second-level ones, also provides directions and information about nearby sites—as well as the way to over half a million toilets. “We need to keep pace with the toilet revolution and facilitate it with technologies, thus benefiting tourists in a practical way,” said an employee of the CNTA.
