Canada Covid restrictions end today

Canada announced last Monday that its Covid travel restrictions, once one of the strictest sets anywhere, will be gone today, October 1.

The order sweeps away proof of vaccination rules, rules requiring negative tests before arrival and the last of quarantine rules, as well as the required use of the ArriveCAN app for entry into the country.

The original restrictions were imposed in March 2020, and closed the Canada-U.S. border for over two years with very limited exceptions. When restrictions were loosened earlier this year, Canada still barred entry for unvaccinated visitors except in very limited circumstances, and even then for required to complete a 14-day quarantine.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
