Canada acts to keep Yukon connections

Canada's central government has committed $7 million to keep air service going to remote parts of the Yukon for the next six to eighteen months, and the Yukon government is waiving a quarter million dollars worth of fees.

In some parts of the world canceled flights and rerouting are an inconvenience of the Covid era, but in more isolated areas, such as Canada's Yukon province, it could mean shutting off vital supply routes for essential goods and services and access to medical care.

Under the agreement between Ottawa and the Yukon, the Yukon government agencies will determine what level of service is essential and in which areas; the funds will be allocated using that formula.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
