'Camping out at the airport' goes glam

Many seasoned travelers have 'camped out at the airport' waiting for an early-morning flight or a late-night connection, but Singapore's Changi Airport has taken it to a new level, with a glamping site on the very top floor of the airport's Jewel shopping complex.

Or, if heights are not to your taste, you can pitch your tent at a lower altitude, in the shopping center's Shiseido Forest Valley that includes the 'Rain Vortex,' the largesst indoor waterfall in the world.

With the city-state's campsites closed due to the pandemic, the airport is offering its alternative, using luxury yurts that can be rented for a night—or part of a day—by up to five people. The airport says it offering is “even better because you don’t have to fret about the humidity, wet weather plans or those awful mosquitoes.”

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
