As a quick introduction, Disneyland has two parks: the original Disneyland Park, which opened in 1955, and California Adventure in 2001. Disney built the second park on Disneyland Park's original parking lot property.
Although Disneyland Park has 40 rides, California Adventure only has 25. And although it was less than a stunning beginning, it came into its own after years of adding rides and a major overhaul starting in 2007. It was rededicated in 2012.
Today, several "lands" include Buena Vista Street, Cars Land, Avengers Campus, Hollywood Land, Pacific Wharf, Pixar Pier, Paradise Gardens Park, and Grizzly Peak.
Disney California Adventure is a journey from the California of yesterday to today and a tribute to this land of dreams.
