Brussels plans to double bubblers

Belgium's Brussels region and its water supplier are making a big push to keep area residents hydrated when they are out and about, with a plan to nearly double the area's 117 public fountains.

The project, to be carried out by Vivaqua, the area water supplier, is part of a 'Blue Community' project to push free drinking water. Bernard Van Nuffel, who is a local councillor and head of Vivaqua told press that “Promoting tap water is very important, especially in the current economic context. It is not without consequences for a part of the population.”

The first 28 new fountains will go in this year, with the others following shortly.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
