BRB aims to be the Netflix of travel

A British company whose initials stand for 'Be Right Back' believes it can carve out a new travel segment—people willing to pay £50 a month for three vacations a year, without knowing in advance where.

BRB's subscription fee, which amounts to about €57 or $65, allows members to specify such parameters as beach/mountain/city, solo/couple and name places they don't want to go, and then sit back and wait. About a month before the trip the company tells them where they're going for a weekend break that includes flights and lodging.

The £200 cost of each trip promises at least 3-star hotels, no hostels, and no single supplement. The company says it has a relationship with EasyJet, although it's not an exclusive one. And for the cautious: The trips are protected by ATOL, UK Civil Aviation Authority, rules. So far, flights are only from London.

The Be Right Back part is because people like to travel and to look forward to the next trip—but are not too keen about the hassle of making arrangements. They say the want to make travel "as easy as having a gym membership."

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
