Boeing offers the ultimate private plane

If you're still doing last minute holiday shopping for a billionaire on your list, Boeing may have the answer. It's just rolled out 'business jet' versions of its 777 jetliners, with the ability to fly non-stop between any two points on the globe.

Labeled the BBJ 777X, and coming in either 777-8 or 777-9 lengths, the planes are, so far, the only ones that have the range for Qantas's Project Sunrise, which calls for non-stops to London and New York from Australia's east coast by 2022. For the lucky few who can afford the price ($400 million for the smaller plane and $425 million for the larger, both prices much higher than the airline version) there's a lot of space to fill with elegant custom furniture and fittings; one design suggestion is shown above. The -9 is 33 feet longer than the -8, if you're feeling a little claustrophobic, or want an airborne dog run, or...

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
