Birds of Barcelona

One of my favorite spots in Barcelona is the fountain shown here, at one end of the pedestrianized Avinguda Gaudi. I've been told repeatedly it wasn't built for the pigeons to bathe in, but they and I don't believe that.

Of course, not all the pigeons are in the water, and one was, ever so briefly, in captivity. I'm not sure who was more surprised, captor or captive!

This one is obviously not a pigeon, but he did find a fountain for a quick bath and a drink in the Placa Reial.

And this pigeon found a perch, and possibly a well-used potty, on the head of Catalan playwright Frederic  Soler i Hubert along the Ramblas.
