Best Underrated Places in Florida

(SPONSORED CONTENT)

Florida is a popular state to visit in the United States. Millions of visitors flock to the Sunshine State each year, both from inside and outside of the country. These tourists primarily visit Florida’s hotspot tourist destinations, primarily Orlando theme parks, Miami beaches, and famous Fort Myers real estate. However, Florida is so much more than these locations. There is so much that Florida has to offer visitors, making it a truly great all-around vacation destination. Florida can offer a truly great experience without stepping foot in one of those famous Florida tourist attractions, you just need to know where to look. So where should you go on your Florida vacation? Here are some of the best underrated places in Florida.

Devil’s Den

Florida is home to several beautiful locations and natural wonders, but Devil’s Den may be among the prettiest of them. The attraction is a spring that has over 120 feet of surface diameter and a maximum depth of over 50 feet. The spring is absolutely gorgeous and is a premier scuba diving and water exploration site. The attraction offers rental scuba diving and snorkeling equipment, making it a great site to explore what’s below the water. If underwater exploration is something you’re interested in, then Devil’s Den is the perfect attraction for you.

Everglades

Another great location to explore nature is the Everglades. This place will offer an experience unlike anything you’ve ever had before. The Everglades is a massive national park that many rare and exotic animals call home. The massive area spans over 1.5 million acres of land and is extremely important to the local ecosystem. Exotic and important animals such as the Florida panther and the manatee call the park home, making it the perfect place for a safari. The park offers waterboat tours for guests to view this exotic wildlife, offering guests an experience that they will likely never be able to replicate again.

Manasota Key

Florida is known for its great beaches, many of which are located in a small area of Florida called Manasota Key. Manasota Key is an area consisting of land from Manatee County and Sarasota County. The Key contains several famous beaches including Englewood Beach, Manasota Beach, and Caspersen Beach. Englewood Beach, in particular, is a great vacation spot for younger adults, making it an extremely popular spring break destination. The other beaches on the key also attract thousands of visitors each year as well. If you’re looking for some beach fun, then perhaps a visit to the Manasota Key should be in your itinerary.

Tampa

Although Tampa is a relatively populated city and is quite well-known, it is often under-appreciated as a Florida tourist destination. The city is often overshadowed by its more popular neighbors Orlando and Miami, but that doesn’t mean that the city doesn’t have a lot to offer. Tampa has some great local culture for everyone to enjoy. In addition, the city has plenty of entertainment options for both tourists and residents alike. Not to mention the beautiful beaches that are located extremely close to the city. Tampa can offer the same classic Florida experiences that other more famous destinations can, but typically for a lower price and with smaller crowds.
