Armed monkeys attack UK safari park

Got your attention with that headline, no doubt! But it's not fake news, although pranksters may have monkeyed with the circumstances.

According to the Sunday Times (UK) visitors to the Knowsley Safari Park in Merseyside, near Liverpool, have spotted baboons with a variety of weapons including knives, screwdrivers and (less believably) a chainsaw, possibly looted from park workers' toolboxes.

The park management says at least some of the stories are exaggerated, but auto repair places nearby told reporters that they have had customers come in for repairs after encountering the animals.

In normal times, the park operates a 'Baboon Bus' which takes visitors through the park and often has the baboons climbing on it, thrilling visitors. However, because of the current pandemic, visitors now make the visit in their own cars

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
