April Fools Again: Airline Videos

We'll credit WestJet, the Canadian discount airline, for being the first carrier to start a regular tradition of April Fools videos, but they're no longer the only, and to be honest, this year they've been out-fooled by even-cheaper-discounter startup airline Swoop, which won't be flying Canadians until June.

While WestJet went with a live 'personal assistant' theme in this year's foolery it couldn't match the sheer madness of Swoop's pay-toilet sendup of the whole 'pay for everything' business plan of the ultra lowcost carriers it will soon join.

Southwest Airlines got into the race, too, with a different take on the personal assistant idea; the video's not on YouTube, but here's a Twitter link.

One more from the airlines: Virgin Australia teamed up with another Richard Branson investment, Virgin Active, to offer this up-in-the-air fitness program.

And if those are not enough for you, the Washington Post published a long list of corporate April Fools pranks across many industries. And here's a link to all of WestJet's April Foolers, going back to 2006.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
