Amsterdam bridges available for sleeping

Yes, that's what it says.

Amsterdam has many bridges with small cabins attached, where formerly bridgekeepers slept and worked opening and closing bridges to allow boats to pass. Now that they've been automated, 28 of them have become rooms in a virtual hotel that claims that no lobby is needed, because the whole city is the lobby.

Sweets Hotel (get the pun?), working with local architecture firm Space & Matter, is turning them, one by one, into rooms with a view and space for just 2 guests. Each has carefully-fitted furniture, bathroom, storage and a unique story. They range in age from 1673 to 2009, and are mostly located along two parallel lengths of canal in the center of the city. Rates start at about $160 per night.
