American adds WiFi and AC fleetwide

American Airlines, which has more planes than anyone else now also has more WiFi-equipped planes than anyone else as it completes a project to ensure connections and entertainment on all its mailine planes.

The WiFi mix is split between two high-speed providers, Gogo's 2Ku and ViaSat. While using it for the plane's entertainment system is free, most customers will have to pay extra to use it for surfing and email.

Now that WiFi is in place, American is also at work on providing AC power outlets at all seats on mainline planes and two-class regionals—got to keep all those devices charged! It's also installing tablet holders on many of the planes, since watching on your tablet ties up your hands.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
