Airline customer service declining, 56% say

A new survey found that 56% of Americans surveyed believe airline customer service has gotten worse in the past few years, and many of them have filed or posted complaints.

The survey, by personal finance researcher ValuePenguin, also indicated that younger passenggers, millenials especially, are twice as likely to complain as older passengers. Overall, 45% of those surveyed say they have filed a complaint about an airline, although that may include social media posts along with formal complaints.

And that raises yet another question: Is the rise in complaints an accurate reflection of declining customer service? Or, given the age difference noted, could it be a perception based on passengers who are more used to complaining in public?
