Iran signed a deal to buy 118 jets from Airbus worth $27 billion. It includes 12 of the world's largest passenger jet, the A380 superjumbo.

The deal was announced during a visit to France by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. International sanctions against Iran were lifter earlier this month, but the deal is still conditional on Airbus getting U.S. export licenses since over 10% of the jets are made in the United States.

Iran is also buying some turboprops, from ATR, which is jointly owned by Airbus and an Italian company. The deal includes 20 firm orders and 20 optionals, but didn't specify the cost, or the possible mix of ATR42 (45-seat) and ATR72 (70-seat) models.
