A diamond as big as the Ritz

All's well that ends well, apparently at the Paris hotel that gave the world it's name as a synonym for luxury. A guest's $750,000 diamond ring, missing from a night table has turned up in a vacuum cleaner bag.

The owner, a Malaysian businesswoman,  reported the ring as stolen and told police she suspected hotel staff.

The hotel told the AFPnews agency the ring had been found "thanks to the meticulous search work carried out by our security guards." The hotel offered the rings owner three free nights, but said she declined the offer.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
