Destination DC looking for locals

Washington, DC is one of the nation's top tourism destinations, with visitors coming from all over the country, but the city would like its neighbors to drop in more often, too.

Destination DC has put together a promotion campaign looking for visitors from an hour or two away, or even closer, who may visit the city but don't stay overnight to enjoy the city's hotels, nightlife and restaurants. The campaign includes a menu of hotel deals, world-class arts and culture offerings, delicious restaurants and free museums and attractions aimed to take advantage of the season's slower winter pace. The deals run through February.

The campaign, focused on nearby ZIP codes, includes email outreach, interactive digital and video units, paid search and paid social to market the promotion. There are even three 30 seconds videos, created for ads on social media demonstrating how to get out and take advantage of what DC has to offer, fully enthused, without breaking the bank or traveling far.
