Sept 15, 2019 Times Square Photographers

As I was walking through Times Square, my attention was captured by the number of people who watching the world through their phones, rather than just observing it.

Seems everyone's a photographer in our modern world.

Some people do it very well.  Others, well, not so much so.

It makes it harder to sell photos. But to me it was as much about not looking at the world directly. I see the same thing a concerts now.

I know what you mean about not looking at life, except through your viewfinder or phone.  If there is time now, I actually make a point of walking through a place to see what I see with the camera put away (after I've taken the photos I need for TravelGumbo, of course).

I took a photography course this summer. Our last assignment was to go to Santa Fe Plaza for 1 hour and take not more than 2 photos.
