Tokyo's newest art gallery moving fast

The latest gallery opening in Tokyo requires a ticket, but not the usual sort for a museum. If you want to enjoy the art, you'll need to book on the Genbi Shinkansen, one of Japan's iconic bullet trains.

The Genbi, which has been in operation for several years, has been assigned to a Tokyo route for the first time, giving metropolitan visitors and residents a chance to enjoy its mix of Western, traditional and modern Japanese art.

But at least for now, the Tokyo assignment is only a two-day special. On the other hand, the train's usual run in Niigata Prefecture is only 40 minutes long; the Tokyo route will allow about two hours to enjoy the exhibit.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
