Now there's even a Royal B&B

If your reading about Britain has left you with the impression that the royals and  the nobles look down upon people who are "in trade," your prejudices are due for another shock: the Royal family has just opened a bed-and-breakfast at one of their castles.£

A small lodge, once used for grain storage, at the Castle of Mey in Scotland was recently opened for business by Prince Charles. The Granary Lodge is on the grounds of a castle that for many years was vacation home to his grandmother, mother of the present queen. It's in the northern Highlands, with views of the Orkney Islands.

The ten rooms, all including a full cooked breakfast, range in price from £145 to £195 per night.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
