Irish paper finds world of 'small wonders'

The Independent, one of Ireland's major daily newspapers, posted some time ago that everyone knew the big attractions in Ireland—national museums, zoos, historical sites—and that it was looking for tips on smaller attractions.

Last week, after reporters Pól Ó Conghaile & Nicola Brady sifted through the huge pile of tweeted responses they got, the paper published a list of some of the best "Small Wonders." In their words, "cool caves to county museums, farm tours to railway rides, hidden perfumeries to a replica WWI trench, our round-up barely scratches the surface... but it's given us the makings of some brilliant days out."

Among the 25 that made the list was the Old Irish Ways Museum in Cuillaghmore, Limerick, seen above. For the rest of the list, click HERE

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
