Capital of Culture Series: Marseilles

Each year, the EU designates a special city or cities as the European Capital of Culture. It's one of the most prestigious cultural events in Europe, with impressive events surrounding the designation. This makes those cities great destinations for travelers. It is a big factor for me in choosing specific cities as my travel targets.

Starting November 10th with Marseilles, TravelGumbo will publish some of our own trip reports from some past, current, and future designated European Capital of Culture cities. We hope you contribute your reports and advice of those cities.
