2 Million seats in Aer Lingus winter sale

Aer Lingus has marked down prices on two million seats to Europe and North America as it prepares to add more trans-Atlantic routes next week.

The Irish airline, which has been expanding fairly aggressively since becoming part of British Air's parent International Airlines Group, is offering tickets to the UK and Europe from Dublin as low as €29.99 and to North America as low as €159 each way.

Those fares, available for flights between November 1 and March 31, put the airline squarely in the same market with discounters such as Norwegian and Ryanair. It comes at a time when it has announced new service from Dublin to London City airport, and is due to announce two more U.S. routes to the several added recently. It will also soon be receiving its first new A321LRs, which may open new route possibilities.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
