Belgium’s Dinner in the Sky meets its Waterloo

Dinner in the Sky—a gourmet meal for 32 diners on a platform suspended from a crane—that has become a Belgian tradition is taking place this year over the historic Waterloo battlefield.

Each day for 32 days a different star chef prepares a five-course meal prepared at a kitchen in the sky on the platform. The diners are seated at eight tables around the edge.

This year’s presentation, the 14th, will feature a number of female chefs and a group of newer chefs. Brussels-born David Ghysels, founder of Dinner in the Sky, has said his main ambition is to showcase Belgium’s thriving gastronomic scene.
