We departed our River Cruise ship shortly after dawn. A tour bus drove us around the city of Nuremberg, showing us some of the historic highlights before heading up towards the castle.

During this trip we spotted 2 hot air balloons ascending over the cityscape — one blue, one red. The blue balloon headed in a different direction and we soon lost sight of it, but the red one got closer and closer. It bore the logo “Der Beck”, which is a the brand name of a popular German bakery chain. Beck is the family’s surname.

It’s common for companies to sponsor hot air balloons and I think it’s quite effective. A good way to get your brand before the eyeballs of many consumers.
