While walking around Morro Bay we came across the young lady featured in the above photo balancing on one leg. She did this for a remarkable period of time—well over a minute—standing perfectly still the entire time. The epitome of youthful grace.
Two days later in Bodega Bay I came across a great blue heron striking a similar pose. He was stretching his wing and scratching its underside with his leg.
I thought the bird did not look as graceful as the girl and only kept this post for about 5 seconds.
