The New South Wales town of Robertson is famous for its red-soil potatoes, and to celebrate that fact the town has for decades displayed a giant replica potato alongside its main street. It was an ugly brown thing that resembled something unmentionable rather than a potato.
But now Robertson has got creative to celebrate the anniversary of something else the town is famous for – being the principal location where the movie Babe was filmed 30 years ago.
So the potato has been turned into a cute, smiling pig in vivid pink. Much better. I just hope they don’t return it to its original form when the celebrations are over!
