The Minnesota Marine Art Museum (MMAM) could fit into any shoreline space with its weathered-looking shingles. As it happens, it is on the shores of the Mississippi River, the center of a seven-acre complex in Winona.

The idea behind the museum is to create “meaningful art experiences that explore our relationship with water.”

The museum, with its six galleries, has an educational and events space and a gift shop.

According to the website, “MMAM is not only describing what marine art is, but pushing the boundaries of what marine art can be.”
