Knowing I wanted to visit Red Wing, Minnesota, and the World’s Largest Boot, an Explore Minnesota employee, Anne Paterson, suggested the Pottery Museum of Red Wing as well.

Walking into the free exhibit, I was overwhelmed by the sheer size of the museum — 13,000 square feet — and the 6,000-plus pieces of artisan-crafted stoneware, art pottery, and dinnerware, along with folk art.

Throughout the museum, QR codes are located at various displays. When you click on the code, an expert provides a detailed explanation of what you are looking at. The videos are excellent.
You can easily spend several hours here depending on your interest.

When you finish, make sure to check out the historic pottery for sale. I purchased a beautiful planter. The helpful clerk looked up the artist from the markings on the bottom. It was created by Belle Kogan in 1951.
