American Cruise Lines, which has been expanding in recent years as U.S.-based rivals have shrunk, is adding a new area to its list: the Great Lakes, starting next May.
The line, which operates routes in the Pacific Northwest, New England and the Mississippi River, is sending its 130-guest American Patriot on two 9-day and one 14-day itineraries between May and August. Starting prices are pegged from $8675 and up per person.
The three itineraries are
- Great Lakes and Thousand Islands (9-day), sailing between Cleveland, Ohio and Syracuse, New York, with an excursion to Niagara Falls
- Lake Michigan and Upper Peninsula (9-day) is a round-trip from Milwaukee, with stops in Wisconsin and Michigan, including a tour of the Harley-Davidson Museum
- American Great Lakes (14-day) sailing between Cleveland and Milwaukee, visiting Lakes Erie, Huron and Michigan and passing through the Soo Locks.
