Alaska, Hawaii get a little closer

Or at least the airlines named for them do. Hawaiian Airlines, now owned by Alaska, is moving terminals at several airports so that the two airlines can share ground staff and more efficiently make passenger connections. In one case, Alaska is moving, too.

The biggest change comes at New York JFK, where both airlines will move from their present terminals to Terminal 8, whose main tenants are American Airlines and British Airways, fellow-members of OneWorld. Iberia, Japan Airlines and Finnair are also there. Hawaiian Airlines is new to JFK; Alaska is moving from Terminal 4 by October.

Other airports affected are Los Angeles, San Francisco and Phoenix, where they have already come together; Sacramento, Salt Lake City and Las Vegas are to have their shuffles later this year.
