Peterson, Minnesota, is a tiny village with a big reputation—especially if you enjoy biking. The Root River State Bike Trail runs right through it, along with other small communities along its route.
Add to this an excellent museum housed in a century-old former train station and The Wenneson Inn (affectionately called The Wen), a beautiful bed-and-breakfast, and you have a paradise of just over 200 welcoming locals and nature at its best.

Peterson was founded by Norwegian immigrants in the mid-1800s. The railroad village claims the gnome as its mascot, pointing to this heritage.
Many visitors arrive by car with their bikes, stay at The Wen and bike the trail either way for a lovely outdoor adventure. Or, start the trail in another location and stay at the B&B after a day’s worth of bike riding.

The Wen offers ten antique-filled guest rooms along with a delicious breakfast to start the day.
The restful community with its rich history and lovely setting is the perfect getaway destination.
