Dutch Beer Week is on tap today through Sunday, with nationwide events including tastings, tours and special events, highlighting the rich Dutch beer tradition. It’s the 12th time around for the annual event.
The festival is organized by Nederlandse Brouwers, a trade group representing 14 major Dutch breweries and CRAFT, the trade association of independent brewers. This year, for the first time, it also has support from the Dutch hospitality industry association.
Events include the Gulpener Brouwersdiner on May 14 and 15, showcasing beer and food pairings, a “social run” in Rotterdam and a walking tour through Leiden that stops at beer-related locations throughout the city center. Twenty-two breweries will open their doors to the public and seven beer festivals are scheduled for the week.
