I didn’t know, but ‘prowl’ apparently is the collective noun for the sleek big cats. Here, however, we are talking about the British cars named after them. The photo above shows the front of a 1949 Jaguar Mk IV. The car was one of the exhibits at the 2025 Swansea Classic Car show, as were all the other vehicles featured here. The shot below shows a side view.

Note that the doors opened ‘backwards’. This was also the case in other cars of a similar vintage, but in later Jaguar models—like the 1959 Mk IX pictured next—the door mounts were moved to the front position we are used to nowadays.

The show actually featured two Mk IX models.

Its neighbour on the grass was a yellow 1968 E-Type:

This one had a hard top, but there was also a convertible 1974 model:

When you see what is under the bonnet, you realise why it needed to be that long.

The show featured many other marques, most of them British and many—sadly—now defunct. The one in the final photo is not one of those. It is a fantasy car built from fibreglass parts and components of various other vehicles. The doors apparently came from an old Mini.
