Ville Vie, now underway, selling season passes

Villa Vie Residences (it doesn’t like to call itself a cruise line) has added shorter term options to its original plan to have residents (it doesn’t like to call them passengers) buy their residences (the company doesn’t call them cabins) for life.

The company’s ship, Odyssey—yes, they call it a ship—is currently on a four-month series of calls around South America, before setting off for other parts of the world on what’s billed as a three-and-a-half-year initial itinerary. The project had a rocky start last summer, with its first residents waiting several months in Belfast for renovations and repairs to be completed.

The new option, dubbed “Seasonal Ownership,” offers residencies of anywhere from a month to nine months, starting at any of the ship’s ports of call, and with prices starting at $24,999. There’s also a “Try Before You Buy” option that allows prospective residents to visit the ship for 7 to 10 days.

The company also announced a range of new financing options for buyers, available both to seasonal plans and to the permanent “Endless Horizons” program.
