Vancouver House is a fairly new and unique addition to the skyline of British Columbia’s largest city. The building was designed by Bjarke Ingels Group, a Danish architectural firm. Construction began in 2016 and was completed in 2020. The building has received a lot of recognition from the architectural community around the globe.
Because of regulatory and space limitations in the footprint of the building (constrained by the ramps of the Granville Bridge and other city requirements), the base of the building is triangular, and as it rises to its full height of 59 stories it gradually transitions to a rectangular shape. The end result is visually quite interesting.

Vancouver House includes residential homes, rental properties and retail spaces. The property is located at 1480 Howe Street, Vancouver (Yaletown)

I am no architect, but to a simpleton like me it looks “tipsy”. It will be interesting to see what happens if (heaven forbid) the building is given a good shake by an earthquake someday. Hopefully I am unduly concerned.
Spectacular photos!
