Rabat is the political capital of Morocco. It’s a clean, modern city which has a history extending back hundreds of years. The city’s path to prominence came during the period of French occupation, when it was made the country’s political epicenter.
While walking along the River Bou Regreg in the afternoon, I noticed a number of fishermen finishing their day’s work, preparing nets and such. The Atlantic Ocean is less than one kilometer to the west.
The city on the opposite bank is Salé, where most of the city’s labor pool lives.
