The river forms the northern boundary of the Chobe National Park. Our accommodation package included various options for safaris and a late afternoon cruise was one of them.
We were pleased to find that it was a fairly small boat which we shared with only a couple of other people. The guide took us very close to some of the wildlife on the banks of the river.
The ‘striped’ elephants had just come out of the water.
Some of the local residents clearly viewed us with a degree of scepticism.
Others just ignored us completely.
As the sun touched the horizon, we slowly made our way back to the jetty – watching the changing colours around us.
Your photos are excellent. I especially liked your crocodile! I want to get back to Africa!
I’m glad for the explanation of the striped elephants, because I was so puzzled at first glance!
Some excellent photos, Professor! Especially like the one of the Croc inviting for dinner.
One of my favourite African destinations, beautifully presented in your photos.
Thanks for all your kind comments. There is another post about Chobe NP coming up shortly.
