EasyJet takes an ‘easy’ loss in court

If you saw an advertising services advice firm with the name Easyfundraising Ltd, would you think it was an airline company? Well, a British High Court didn’t think so either, telling easyGroup, the parent of easyJet that it can’t have the word to itself.

easyGroup had sued, claiming an infringement of their trademark and saying that customers would confuse the two brands. In a ruling last Wednesday, Mr Justice Fancourt dismissed the claims, saying “it is unlikely that any but a few would make the association and be confused” between the two brands.

Well, that was easy!
