Understated Excellence: Grilled Octopus with Horta

No beetroot vinaigrette, sweet potato puree, or any of the other current fads of supposedly sophisticated cooking. This time-tested stalwart of Greek cuisine does not require anything else – apart from a glass of good white wine.

Not ever on my food list.  Went to a European event and they had baby octopus floating in a water bowl with lettuce leaves and they would snip off the small tentacles with sharp pliers.  I had to look away.
