Mont des Arts Garden, Brussels

The Garden of the Mont des Arts is located at the foot of the Place Royale.  As you can see from the above photo, it offers a great panoramic view toward the Grand Place and the historic core of Brussels.

The first garden of the Mont des Arts was developed in 1910 for the Universal Exposition.  The garden was redeveloped in the 1950s and replaced by the urban complex of the Mont des Arts — including the Royal Library, a shopping gallery, office space, and a “suspended garden” on a concrete slab covering the subterranean car park.  The garden as we see it today was redeveloped in 2001.
