Seattle Museum Month: Triple Play

February in Seattle is shaping up to be a good time for a visit: low airfares, hotel promotions and a big range of free and reduced-price museum admissions—and even the weather isn’t bad, if you don’t mind rain.

That’s the promise of Seattle Museum Month, when visitors staying at any one of nearly 60 participating hotels—many of which have special winter packages—will be entitled to 50% off at more than 40 museums and institutions and free admission at others. And February is historically a good time for lower airfares to the area.

Even visitors who’ve been to Seattle recently will have something new to visit; two area museums have re-opened after being closed for renovation. The Seattle Asian Art Museum will celebrate its expansion and renovation on Feb. 8, and the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture re-opened two months ago. It’s the oldest museum in Washington State.
