China building yet another ‘thrill bridge’

China seems determined to keep its leadership in the building of vertigo-inducing or terrifying thrill attractions; the latest to be announced is a 2-level invisible bridge that will use glass, mirror steel and polished stone to either provide the thrill of a lifetime or heart-stopping terror. YMMV.

The project also includes three pavilions to be built into the mountainside nearby, offering more viewpoints, a cafe and a luxury hotel. The new attraction is planned for the same area of Hunan where the world’s longest and highest glass-floor bridge opened earlier this year.

China is not alone in building sites for thrill seekers, although it seems to have the most going at the moment. Among others, a ‘Sky Slide” that goes 45 feet down to an observation platform in Los Angeles; a Shanghai office tower with an outside walkway that requires safety harnesses, and Russia’s Sochi SkyBridge, high above a park. That one even includes bungee jumping!
