32 years later, Marriott opens its 1000th Courtyard

Hard to believe there was a time before Hilton Garden Inn or Holiday Inn Express.  Back in those days over 30 years ago, Marriott pioneered  the idea of a hotel aimed at busy people traveling, often sales people or businessmen on the road.  With significant input from their users, they designed Courtyard hotels which included such standard amenities as a spacious room, desk, multiple outlets for charging devices, a comfortable chair or sofa to sit in, free phone, TV and wifi etc.

The idea has obviously been very successful and the brand continues to evolve.   Marriott opens its 1000th Courtyard in Washington state’s wine country, Walla Walla.  More on this story at this link on HotelNewsNow.
